Woodman of the World City Park
In 1988, a group of dedicated citizens approached the Mayor and City Council with a vision: to create a city park for the community. By 1990, thanks to generous donations and successful fundraisers, enough funds had been raised to bring that vision to life. The park property is owned by Woodman of the World and is leased and maintained by the City of Cleveland.
As part of the lease agreement, the City covers annual insurance and property taxes to ensure the park remains open and accessible to the public.
Today, the Woodman of the World City Park offers a peaceful place to enjoy the outdoors, featuring:
-
A walking trail
-
A playground
-
An open area field
-
A pavilion (available to reserve by calling City Hall at 706-865-2017)
Please note: for the comfort and safety of all visitors, pets are not permitted in the park at this time.
Note: The Mayor and Council are in the initial stages of improving the park for current and future users. The plans include new benches, enhancing security and lighting and additional playground equipment for the children in the community.
The City is also looking ahead, with plans to develop a nature trail at a future location to expand recreational opportunities for residents and visitors.
